President’s message from Stuart Sinai

Welcome to the Temple Beth Israel of Longboat Key. We hope you will find this website useful to access information about the services, programs and resources that are available at our congregation. We also hope you will visit us and meet our very personable and knowledgeable Executive Director, Isaac Azerad. He would be delighted to show you around our facilities and answer your questions.

Temple Beth Israel is an adult congregation that serves as The Center of Jewish Living on Longboat Key.  Our Friday night Services, led by Rabbi Stephen L. Sniderman, are complete with a renowned choir, featuring honored soprano Kei Sulhi and distinguished Choir Director, Dr. Ann Stephenson-Moe.

On Saturday mornings, throughout the year, Rabbi Sniderman facilitates lovely and interesting Torah discussions, as part of a more traditional Sabbath service.

Adult learning is important to us and we are proud of the Rabbi Michael B. Eisenstat Miniversity that incorporates lectures on music, drama, cooking, history and other timely topics. Other activities include regularly scheduled Bridge games, movie matinees, many Women’s and Men’s Club activities, monthly congregational dinners, book discussions, a variety of stimulating field trips, programs by visiting scholars and social action projects. Our Temple is also the home of prerecorded simulcasts from the 92Y, in New York City, which are enjoyed by the entire community.

We offer a varied schedule of membership opportunities that comfortably meet the needs of our congregation. Please call or contact me, Rabbi Sniderman, Isaac Azerad, or any member of the staff for additional information. The office can be reached at (941) 383-3428. We are delighted and honored to be part of such an established and supportive congregation. We look forward to your visit, your involvement and to your potential membership.

Shalom,
